About

The dry bits…

I am a graduate of the University of Southampton, where I was awarded an honours degree in Computer Science.

I am an elected Chartered Member (MBCS CITP) of the British Computer Society, and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) courtesy of the Engineering Council (UK).

I have worked in various areas of the computing industry, ranging from systems integration to building systems for on-line console gaming networks. Currently, I am employed as a Technical Architect in creating on-line solutions for the recruitment industry.

My main computing interests fall in the areas of web development, security and Big Data (e.g. MongoDB).

The wet bits…

I have a history in judo, achieving a 1st Dan black belt under the British Judo Association. During my time in he martial art, I became a qualified UKCC Level 1 coach, and National ‘C’ referee. Both on a volunteer basis. Please also see my Judo CV.

My current fitness interests revolve around football refereeing. I am currently a level 4 (Supply League) referee affiliated to Surrey FA. This means I also act as an Assistant Referee on the Contributory leagues. The discipline and confidence from judo has certainly carried over! More on my refereeing page.

I am a musician who specialises in guitar and dabbles in bass. Please see my music
