Hi, I’m Tristan.

I am a passionate technologist with 20+ years of experience in Head of Development and Lead Architect roles. Over recent years, this has mostly been within the Games, Media & Entertainment industries.

I am the curator of Tech Interrupt – A regular newsletter that combines technology, culture, gaming and much more into its own distinct blend. Recent subjects covered have included everything from Gamification to the use of data in fitness.

Experience

Head of Development

I am an experienced leader of full-stack software engineering teams: Hiring, coaching, innovating. Agile, waterfall… whatever it takes to get products released that delight customers.

Cloud Transformation

I am an evangelist for ‘Cloud First’ development, with proven experience in delivering transformation initiatives for Enterprises. Technology is one aspect of adopting the cloud: Cultural change is critical.

Game Tech

Starting out with an Atari 400 and ‘Star Raiders’, I have years of experience working with the games industry. Making the cloud work for studios and their players is a key part of my recent roles.

Projects

Tech Interrupt

I am the author of Tech Interrupt. In my regular and FREE newsletter, I cover Tech, Culture, Gaming and everything that intersects into that expansive and fascinating landscape.

Avenger Sharks

Creating games is FUN! Using Godot, I am building my very own twin-stick shooter — taking inspiration and game design notes from my two children. Playable on the web, PC, Mac and Linux. Now available on Steam and you can watch a trailer.

Cave

Cave was a MUD (Multi User Dungeon) on the BBC Micro, released in 1985. I have re-created the game to allow it to be played on modern hardware. Full repository on GitHub.

Keyteki

I am a contributor to Keyteki. This is an open source solution to allow the card game KeyForge to be played on-line, usually at The Crucible.
